# Compute Reputation

Picoin introduces the concept of compute reputation.

Network participants can build reputation through:

* successful mining;
* validator participation;
* audit participation;
* scientific compute contributions;
* uptime and reliability.

Future versions of the protocol may use reputation for:

* job assignment;
* validator selection;
* audit weighting;
* compute prioritization;
* governance participation.
